Chapter 6 - What the Situation Requires
The upper threshold opened onto the city. Not the interior of it: the edge, the specific angle of the Archives' positioning that let you see the whole of the oldest district and, beyond it, the scale of what six centuries of Vethari civilization looked like when organized around the system the Integration had formalized rather than created.
Chapter 5 - Both Options Have Real Costs
There was no fifth chamber. The Archives did not have one, or if it did, Keth'serai had not found it in four centuries of using the building, and she had stopped believing in things she couldn't locate.
Chapter 4 - The Actual Thing
The fourth chamber was the only one in the Archives that had no record in it. No pre-Integration notation, no system display, no resonance construct from the lineage's rendering tradition. The walls were bare stone.
Chapter 3 - From Outside the Beauty
The predecessor's chamber was not where Keth'serai usually brought candidates.
Chapter 2 - The Shape of the Cost
The lineage chamber was the oldest room in the Archives that the Archives still considered part of itself. Older chambers existed. Keth'serai had been in some of them, in the years before she understood the distinction the Archives were making. But the older chambers had been left behind by the accretion of two thousand years of use, the way a house's foundations stop being where people live. The lineage chamber was where the Leth had always worked, and so the Archives had continued to consider it the center of the thing, regardless of what had been built around it.
Chapter 1 - The Question It Always Asks
The outer passage of the Archives had been waiting for two thousand years, and Keth'serai understood its patience better than most things she understood.
The Vethari
The Vethari They were here first. That is the part humans struggle with. Six hundred years before a colonial expedition cracked open an Architect installation on Cantos IV and delivered the Integration to every human mind in broadcast range, a species on the far side of the galax…
What I Mapped
Teenagers with the Integration Overlay. What could go wrong? A story about what high Lattice can't predict — and why missing it was exactly right.
Wen Chori
The newest member of the Fireteam. Wen is still learning the ropes and integrating with the ream.

Dex Korin
Dex is a Frame 35 Vanguard. He moves with the particular economy of a very large person who'd learned how to make himself small. **Frame 35** translated in his movement as a kind of solidity the floor seemed to notice — not mass exactly, more like the quality of something the system had decided was load-bearing.
Maren Okafor
Maren has run her team for three years, merging them together into a single unit with high focus. Five operators covering the team's needs, forged through Maren's leadership to be greater than the sum of their parts.
Unopened
A story about the moment the Integration finds your child — and the parent who can't look away and can't intervene.
Load Bearing
A story about what team cohesion looks like when the system can measure it — and what it can't.

The Architects
You ask about them. Everyone asks about them. The query is logged more frequently than any other in the civilian research index. Who built this. Who made us what we are. Who turned a species that had barely left its home gravity well into something measured, ranked, and slotted i…
Infrastructure
A story about the moment research stops being academic — and the analyst who can't look away.
